Do I need finance training?

Overseeing financial performance is your third core function as a governor and one of the purposes of trust governance.

This means you need a solid grounding of how finance works and what good financial management looks like, even if you're not on a finance committee or a finance specialist.

Undertaking training on school finance means you'll have the knowledge to hold senior leaders to account and make sure your school or trust is spending money correctly.

Take our finance learning pathways

You can complete our learning pathways in your own time – each one will take you around 30 minutes to work through.

You can then take a final assessment and earn a certificate once you pass. This certificate will automatically appear on your GovernorHub training record and demonstrate your commitment and knowledge.
