Understand how the PE and sport premium for primary schools is allocated and find out how your school can spend it.

This article is based on guidance from the DfE and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), and the conditions of grant in 2020/21.

Coronavirus: your school must spend 2019/20 funding by the end of this year

Your school now has until the end of the 2020/21 academic year to spend any funding it carried forward from 2019/20, that it couldn't use due to coronavirus (previously your school had to spend the funding by the end of March).

Your school may need to update its PE and sport premium spending plans for 2020/21 to reflect this change.

Online reporting for 2020/21

Your school must publish information on its website about how it has used its allocation this year, by 31 July 2021.

If coronavirus has affected your school's ability to collect swimming and water safety data, school leaders should still publish what they have and explain any limitations
