Understand how the inspection framework applies to SEND provision
When inspectors ask you questions about special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), keep in mind:
- Ofsted won’t judge your school's SEND provision separately. Instead, it will use evidence related to your SEND provision to inform other judgements
- Ofsted's education inspection framework (EIF) applies to all state-funded and non-maintained special schools and mainstream schools' SEND provision (see paragraph 361)
- Inspectors will take into account specific factors regarding your school’s SEND provision, which we cover in this article on how Ofsted inspects SEND
