Is there a template for reporting key information to governors? We worked with two of our associate education experts to develop a downloadable template for regular reports to governors of primary schools. It includes sections on staff, teaching and the progress and attainment of pupils.

We worked with two of our associate education experts, David Roche and Gulshan Kayembe, to develop a KeyDoc template that primary schools can use to help them report key information to governors on a routine basis.

Using the KeyDoc
Schools can use this template flexibly, adding or amending aspects to suit their circumstances and priorities.
For example, as primary schools have developed their own assessment systems they may need to adapt the 'Attainment and progress' section of the template to reflect this.

A common way of reporting key school data to the governing body is through a headteacher's report. There are no regulations or central guidance on the format and content of a headteacher's report to governors.
