13 June 2025: Ofsted announces delay to consultation outcome

Ofsted has announced that its response to the consultation on a new inspection model will be delayed until September 2025

It had previously aimed to publish a response during the summer term. You can read the full letter on Ofsted's website.

From the end of the summer term, routine inspections will be delayed until November 2025. Monitoring inspections will continue to be carried out for:

  • Providers that are in a 'category of concern'
  • Providers currently graded 'requires improvement' that are due for a visit

Ofsted will also continue to carry out emergency inspections "to keep children and learners safe".

The consultation is now open and Ofsted is asking parents, carers, professionals and learners for their views on the
