Agree on the scope, format and frequency

Your CEO needs to provide your board with the information it needs to do its job well. 

Make sure you decide: 

  • What you'd like your CEO to include in the report – agree on the scope and format (this is explained on page 28 of the Governance Handbook)
    • Its a good idea to base the report on the trust quality descriptions – see below
  • On the frequency of your reports – make sure you take into account work-life balance and avoid busy periods such as exams
    • Most CEOs report to trustees 3 times a year
