Work schedule planning

The Key has several articles that might help you to plan your governing body's work schedule.

One article relays advice from one of our associate education experts on making challenge a focus of governors' meetings. It includes tips such as:

  • Identify key objectives as part of school development planning
  • Ask evidence-based questions and record any action points in the next agenda

Another of our articles features our governors’ year planner KeyDoc. The planner includes key tasks for governors and important dates for schools and the governing body.

We also have a KeyDoc template for a governors' monitoring schedule, which we created with another of our associate education experts. It includes columns for you to record information on each:

  • Area to be monitored
  • Focus and school activity
  • Identified impact of governor monitoring or activity

This article was updated in response to feedback from the chair of governors of a medium-size urban primary school in the east of England.
