Your school must use the DfE's templates to publish its strategy statement

This is separate to its report to you – there are still no requirements for the format in which your school leaders report to you on the pupil premium.

The DfE will perform monitoring checks on a sample of schools' published reports.  

Your school must demonstrate the evidence basis for its spending

Your school must show how its spending strategy is informed by research evidence and refer to a range of sources, including the toolkit published by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF). The DfE says this in section 4 of the conditions of grant for both LAs and academies.
