Understand how the inspection framework applies to SEND provision
When inspectors ask you questions about special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), keep in mind:
- Ofsted won’t judge your school's SEND provision separately. Instead, it will use evidence related to your SEND provision to inform other judgements
- Inspectors will take into account specific factors regarding your school’s SEND provision, which we cover in this article on how Ofsted inspects SEND
Questions Ofsted might ask governors
Use our list of questions an inspector might ask governors about SEND. They're based on the inspection framework and its application to SEND provision.
Remember: an inspector wouldn’t ask all of these questions and may not ask them in exactly the same way, so try to understand the point of the question, rather than the exact wording.
