News briefing: Teachers may face duty to report child abuse

Teachers and other school staff could be required to report suspected or known cases of child abuse or neglect to the LA, under government plans. Alternatively, staff may face a duty to take “appropriate” action regarding cases of abuse. The government has opened a consultation on the plans.
