Teachers are to debate a proposal to boycott the reception baseline assessments at the NUT's conference this weekend. The motion claims that the tests cause unnecessary stress for teachers and put pupils' wellbeing at risk. But the DfE says a boycott would “disrupt” pupils’ education.
