News briefing: A-level pass rate stable, but drop in top grades

The A-level pass rate is the same this year as last year. However, there has been a slight fall in the proportion of A and A* grades awarded. School leaders have expressed concerns over a drop in entries for modern languages and other ‘minority’ subjects, and warn that funding is inadequate.
