Key Stage (KS) 2 SATs are scheduled for 9 to 12 May 2023

At the end of KS2, pupils take National Curriculum tests, also known as SATs.

In November 2022, the Department for Education announced that each test would take place a day later than originally scheduled (which was from 8 to 11 May 2023). This is due to the coronation of King Charles III, which will take place on Saturday 6 May, with Monday 8 May being observed as a bank holiday.  

Academies, including free schools, are not required to teach the National Curriculum but must still administer SATs tests if their funding agreements require them to follow the KS2 assessment and reporting arrangements (ARA).
