Changes to primary assessment in light of coronavirus

The National Curriculum assessments didn’t take place in summer 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

However, all existing statutory KS1 assessments have returned for 2021/22, following their usual timetables. 

The Standards and Testing Agency (STA) has said that if any changes are needed due to unprecedented circumstances beyond its control, schools will be informed at the appropriate time.

Reception baseline assessment is now in place

Due to coronavirus, the statutory introduction of the reception baseline assessment was postponed to autumn 2021. It is now in place

The ARA is statutory for maintained schools (including special schools). Academies should check their funding agreements to see if you're required to follow the ARA.
